Yesterday we met Monte Fuller, the scuba diver/pilot/fireman who also happens to work behind the bar at Iruna. Today he shares with us the recipe for the Ginger Limonada, a cocktail Iruna’s owner calls “too easy to drink.” We have to agree — it’s a subtly tart, smooth drink that’s got just the right amount of spicy ginger and tastes like a yellow Skittle.
Get the recipe after the jump.
The ingredients:
2 wedges lemon
Candied ginger
½ oz. ginger liqueur
1 ½ oz. Skyy ginger
Sierra Mist to fill
How to make it:
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there. Squeeze the lemon wedges into a highball glass and throw them in when you’ve gotten the juice out. Add candied ginger and muddle. Top with ice, then add vodka and ginger liqueur. Pour back and forth between the glass and a metal shaker to mix. Pour into the glass and enjoy.
