In early January, the first Arizona location of the viral coffee shop La La Land Kind Cafe opened in north Scottsdale at Kierland Commons. In early February, the Dallas-born chain opened a second Valley spot, on Camelback Road and 44th Street.

Soon, Valley customers will have a third spot to sip Banana Cloud lattes and strawberry matchas. La La Land is working on opening a location at the Biltmore Fashion Park, also on Camelback Road, just 2.6 miles west of its second location.

The new coffee shop is slated to open later this year and will be located in the open-air mall near True Food Kitchen. Along with its coffee and matcha drinks, best enjoyed iced with a cloud of flavored cold foam on top, the cafe serves a selection of toasts and small bites. At the Arizona locations, pastries are provided by local favorite JL Patisserie.

Francois Reihani opened the first La La Land in Texas in 2019. It quickly grew a large online following and when the first spot opened in Scottsdale, fans lined up around the block. Huge numbers of eager customers waited for hours to try the cafe’s signature drinks and bask in the glow of its cheery yellow branding and decor.

La La Land’s cheerful appearance matches the attitude of its bubbly baristas, who shout “Love you!” in unison to everyone who walks out the door. The cafe also translates all that positivity into positive action. La La Land locations prioritize hiring and mentoring young adults who have aged out of foster care.

La La Land’s mission is “to bring more yellow into the world,” the cafe’s website says. “Yellow means warmth. Yellow means kindness. Yellow means showing up with joy, even when the world feels heavy.”

Now, that mission, and its sunny yellow glow, will reach a third spot in Phoenix. Expect to see customers shopping around Biltmore Fashion Park with yellow cups in hand later this year.
