It’s a pretty common complaint around town that awesome acts often skip Phoenix on tour. Well, here’s a story that argues the opposite. New Orleans-based rap duo The Knux are kicking of their tour here in the Phoenix Metro, at Scottsdale’s Rogue Bar on Tuesday, November 8.
The band often gets compared to Outkast, but I think that’s mostly because they play guitars and wear tight jeans. The band’s new album, Eraser will not whet your appetite for a new Outkast record, but it is pretty good.
The band showed off an impressive live band take on the album’s first single recently on Late Night With David Letterman, and I guess I hear a little of the Outkast influence here, though far more rock ‘n’ roll. All that awesome jumping and dancing up front is distracting, but don’t miss a change to check out that drummer, who may be making the best goofy rock faces I’ve seen in a long time.
