Conspiracy theorist whack-job Ed Chiarini claims that the January 8, Tucson shooting rampage that left six dead and several injured — including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords — was a hoax.
Chiarini is the man behind the website wellaware1.com, which claims the horrific ordeal was a drill staged by law enforcement agencies, with actors playing the roles of the victims, first responders, and cops.
He says the funerals were staged and the media is in on the conspiracy.
The hole in Giffords’ head is very real, and as members of the media who covered the tragic event — and know that it wasn’t a hoax — New Times would like to issue the following response to Chiarini’s asinine claims:
