Earlier this morning, we commented that a 95-year-old man charged with aggravated assault was too adorable for anyone to be mad at. Then we got our hands on his arrest report.

Turns out, he has a history of domestic violence and his wife is currently in a shelter for battered women. His wife also has an order of protection against her husband, who was born during World War I.

Johnson Lester, 95, was arrested yesterday after crashing his Honda SUV into the home of his neighbor. That neighbor happens to be a Department of Public Safety officer.

See our story on Lester here.

The officer then watched as Lester began crashing the SUV into the front of his house, specifically, into the master bedroom where the officer and his wife had been sleeping.

The officer tried to stop Lester from ramming into his house with the SUV, and even fired a few rounds into his vehicle. But he didn’t hit Lester, who continued to crash the SUV into the house.

Lester was finally stopped by a planter on which the SUV became stuck.

Officers arrived on the scene as Lester became stuck on the planter. When they arrived, he was still accelerating and smoke was coming from the SUV.

Officers opened the car door to try to remove Lester, at which point he took a swing at one of the cops.

Lester, who is deaf, didn’t speak to police. He did, however, give a written reason for his bizarre actions. That reason: he “got even with those people” for “messing with [his] house!”
