Two men are dead after getting shot while sitting in a car in Mesa early this morning, and Mesa police tell New Times that the suspect in the shooting is still on the loose.
About 1:15 this morning, Mesa police got a call from a man who said he and the guy driving his car had been shot.
When police got to the scene, near Southern Avenue and Crismon Road, they found the driver of the car dead. The passenger, who called police to report the shooting, was unresponsive. He was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
Prior to dying, the passenger described the shooter as a Hispanic man in his 20s.
