Road trip anyone? The Beach Boys — you know, those old dudes in funny hats who played with Foster the People and the certified cool guy and totally-not-the-worst Adam Levin-fronted Maroon 5 at the Grammy’s — are coming to Arizona, but they are skipping Phoenix in favor of launching their tour at Tucson’s Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol on Tuesday, April 24.
Featuring Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks (Wilson brothers Carl and Dennis have both passed away), the tour marks the Beachies’ 50th anniversary, and is the first time this lineup has toured in over two decades. The tour includes a stop at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and will feature Uncle Jesse himself, as John Stamos is performing with the band.
Tickets are going on sale Saturday, February 25 via Ticketmaster, and the band’s official site states that more dates will be announced soon — so maybe a Phoenix stop isn’t out of the question. Wouldn’t that be nice?
