Weeks after longtime arts critic Richard Nilsen retired from his post at The Arizona Republic, the local paper announced a new position for a fine arts reporter.
The local daily is looking for a writer “experienced in the spectrum of fine arts, as comfortable talking to ballet dancers and the symphony conductor as with the artist of a new, dynamic gallery show” (… which, if you’re a regular reader of us, you should have no problem doing.)
The ad, posted late last week, also notes that the new hire will be expected to work on all Republic Media platforms (print, online, mobile, social media) and must be capable of crafting previews, reviews, features, profiles, and trend stories on the business of the arts.
