The president of Cirque du Soleil plans to recreate Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch as a gigantic entertainment complex within Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, according to Billboard.
Cirque du Soleil president Daniel Lamarre said earlier this week that the Las Vegas recreation of Neverland Ranch will serve as a location for the celebration of Michael Jackson’s life. He’s shooting for it to open in 2013.
The Jackson estate is also on board with Lamarre’s dream project and is completely supportive of it. Costs to make this dream come to life will be split evenly between Cirque du Soleil and Jackson’s estate. Both parties will have equal ownership of the Mandalay Bay attraction, as well as a Michael Jackson-themed Cirque du Soleil show called “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour” that is currently in the works.
