Need a drink this weekend? The bawdy thespians of Nearly Naked Theatre will be happy to mix up something special to wet your whistle, especially since it will help their bottom line.
Thespians and crewmembers from the notorious Valley drama troupe (who have built a reputation for their risqué and clothing-optional productions over the past decade) will host a special fundraiser on Sunday at ReBar in downtown Phoenix.
According to an Nearly Naked e-mail blast promoting the event, the company suffered a $20,000 shortfall in contributions this past season and is hoping to compensate with an afternoon of cocktails and conversation.

“So instead of raising ticket prices, we’ll have a drinkin’ party.”

Technical director David Weiss and actor Cisco Saavedra will serve as guest bartenders during the happy hour and all tips will be given to the troupe.

Raffles will be held for such prizes as Nearly Naked season tickets and admission to other local companies – including Stray Cat Theatre, Childsplay, and Actors Theatre Phoenix. Actor Eric Boudreau will also whip up some multi-flavored Jello shots in honor of the occasion, and donations will be accepted.
