Hey, remember when I wrote this?
Yes, it was a whole three months ago when the City of Phoenix put out the call to artists for the Seventh Avenue Streetscape public art project and I’m pleased to tell you that the finished product debuts this Friday, April 2, during the First Friday Art Walk.
The dedication ceremony begins at 7 p.m. and the art installation will be displayed for one year. The work, located on 7th Avenue and Glenrosa, consists of three double-sided, translucent and back-lit panels that display the winning visual art pieces on one side with the winning poems on the other.
The artists and poets were chosen by a panel of city and arts professionals. The winning visual artists are Colton Brock, Suzanne Falk and Catie Raya. The selected poets include Catherine Hammond, Ryan Holden and Kathleen Winter.
