Corletha Sherie Davis was sentenced today to 22 years in prison for fatally shooting 37-year-old Discount Cab driver Brian Mann in November 2010.

Despite initially telling the cops she had nothing to do with Mann’s murder, Davis didn’t make it extremely difficult for the cops by hiding the evidence — including the murder weapon and a plastic bag full of underwear — in a dishwasher in her boyfriend’s apartment.

When Davis was arrested, she was wearing a white tee-shirt and gray shorts.

However, a witness who told police he watched Mann fall out of the driver’s seat of the cab with gunshot wounds to his neck, as a woman with long, dark hair, wearing a red sweat-shirt and black pants, got out of the cab and walk towards the Highland Park Apartments following the shooting.

At the police station, the witness looked at Davis and said “the face looked right, but the hair was longer.”

When the cops served a warrant at the apartment of Davis’ boyfriend, where she went immediately following the shooting, and didn’t find much until opening the dishwasher.

Sure enough, the dishwasher had a red, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a bra and underwear wrapped in a plastic bag, and a gun consistent in caliber with shell casings found at the murder scene.

Davis was charged with, and convicted of, second-degree murder.
