Here is your guide to today’s spring training games, as well as a look at some of yesterday’s games that most Valley baseball fans actually care about (sorry, Padres fans, there’s nothin’ here for you unless your boys happen to play against the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers, or the Cubs):

Arizona Diamondbacks: The D-backs got shut out 4-0 by the Seattle mariners on Saturday, snapping Seattle’s six-game losing streak. Dan Haren is charged with the loss for the D-backs after giving up four hits and three runs in five innings pitched.

On Sunday, the Diamondbacks suffered another loss, this time at the hands of the San Francisco Giants. The D-backs lost 4-3 as pitcher Edwin Jackson gave up five hits and four runs in less than five innings pitched.

Chicago Cubs: The Cubbies lost 7-4 to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, as Oakland pitcher Ben Sheets shut down the lovable losers in 4 2/3 innings. The Cubs rallied in the ninth — scoring three runs — but it wasn’t enough to catch up to the A’s seven.

On Sunday, the Cubs posted a 1-1 tie with the Cincinnati Reds in a pitching showdown that used eight of the Cubbies pitchers — none going more than two innings. Micah Hoffpauir went three for four for the Cubs and drove in Chicago’s lone run with a single in the fourth inning.

Los Angeles Dodgers: The Dodgers beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 on Saturday, when a three-run seventh inning kept the team alive after falling behind 2-0 early in the game. Dodgers starter Josh Towers gave up two runs on three hits in four innings pitched.

On Sunday, the Dodgers got smoked 12-5 by the Cleveland Indians. Despite getting blown out, Dodgers standout Garrett Anderson went three for three and is now batting .438 for the spring, in his bid to earn a spot on the Dodgers’ roster.
