Phoenix rain, which residents are always grateful for, didn’t stop devoted Billie Eilish fans from getting up early and lining up outside of the recently renamed Mortgage Matchup Center on Nov. 18 for the first day of two consecutive shows on the star’s Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour stop. (UPDATE: Check out our reviewer’s writeup of the “high energy and high emotion” Tuesday night show.)
Some of the folks enjoying a crisp Arizona morning traveled from out of town to see the singer who has recently made the news, not just for putting on epic shows. She donated a whopping $11.5 million to climate and food justice initiatives, all channeled through her Changemaker program. She encouraged other billionaires to do the same, which has incited a little back-and-forth between the singer and Elon Musk.
A couple of those hanging around outside include two sisters who flew in from Orange County, CA, to catch Eilish and opener Lucy Dacus in action.

Sustainability is another important cause for Eilish. She’s created an area of the tour where attendees can learn more about ways they can help.
