The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture wants you!

Well, actually, they only want you if you happen to be an artist or poet who hasn’t previously received a City of Phoenix public art commission.

If that’s the case, you’re eligible to apply for the 7th Avenue Streetscape project.

Up to three artists and three poets will be selected by a panel of city and arts professionals for a one-year art installation on 7th Ave and Glenrosa. There, they will mount three double-sided, translucent and back-lit panels that display the winning visual art piece on one side with the winning poems on the other.

When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

Now, there’s just a whole bunch of details that you have to pay close attention to for this application process. So, rather than gum up this blog post with a bunch of ugly rules, check the website for application information.

I will, however, inform you of the most important part: the deadlines.

The deadline for poets is JANUARY 8th.

The deadline for visual artists is JANUARY 15th.
