But September 29 carries extra incentive: A few of our own museums are celebrating Smithsonian’s Museum Day Live!, aimed to raise public awareness about the role museums play in our neighborhoods and communities – and to reel in a few visitors with discounts and special events.
On Saturday, September 29, museums around the country will offer free admission when visitors present a printed Museum Day Live! ticket, which can be found on the Smithsonian website. Each ticket is good for two people per household, per address.
Participating museums in Arizona include:
– Arizona Historical Society Museum at Papago Park in Tempe
– Arizona Historical Society in Tucson
– Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa
– Arizona State Museum in Tucson
– Casa Grande Valley Historical Society and Museum in Casa Grande
– Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix
– Heard Museum in Phoenix
– Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park in Phoenix
– and University of Arizona Museum of Art in Tucson (to name a few)
