When it comes to restaurants, there’s a lot happening on Seventh Street. Just south of Bethany Home Road, you’ll find The Yard with Sam Fox’s Culinary Dropout and chef Silvana Salicido Esparza’s Barrio Urbano, as well as Okra, the second restaurant and bar from chef Cullen Campbell and mixologist Micah Olson. Plans for future development in the area include the opening of The Colony, a project that will include not one, but three new eateries: The Herb Box, Stock & Stable, and a sushi spot from the folks behind Pure Sushi.
Now, we’ve got word of yet another project planned for the Seventh Street strip. Later this spring, Joe’s Midnight Run will open at 6101 North Seventh Street, just north of Bethany Home Road. The restaurant will take over the former Joe’s Liquor Drive-Thru space and is expected to open in late March.
Details about the plans for the restaurant are still pretty limited, but the plans include offering craft beer, spirits, and wine on tap. The kitchen will offer wood-fired global cuisine from 11 to 2 a.m., and diners can expect live music and a ’80s and ’90s hip hop theme. Michael Rumpletin is handling the architecture and design of the adaptive reuse project, so you can expect a Midcentury Modern vibe.
The restaurant is hosting hiring fairs today and tomorrow from 2 to 5 p.m. Contact general manager Ryan Martin at info@joesmidnightrun.com for individual interviews.
