Well, here’s one for the “nobody is surprised” bin: Rapper Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, was arrested Wednesday night.
The arrest took place just before 9 p.m. after being pulled over for doing 102 miles per hour while driving westbound on U.S. 60 near the Power Road exit in the far East Valley, according to DPS spokesman Carrick Cook. Simmons also was driving on a suspended and revoked license. Cook says according to the Sheriff’s Office, Simmons was bonded out of jail this morning.
DMX’s management declined to make a statement when contacted by Up on the Sun.
Simmons has repeatedly had trouble with the law, as we’ve reported on extensively. He was released from his 13th stint in the clink Jail on July 1 of this year.. “Let’s hope that this time, the embattled rapper can stay out of trouble long enough to do what he’s best at — rap,” we wrote in our original blog post.
