Bad news for fans of country legend Loretta Lynn. She’s canceled her upcoming tour, including a stop at May 1 stop at Celebrity Theater.

“As y’all know I just went and got my knee done a few weeks back,” a statement reads Lynn’s website. “I am sad to cancel the upcoming shows on the west coast, but I am stuck until my darn knee is better. I was looking forward to seeing all my fans. I’m so tired of being cooped up. Hope to see y’all in
2012.”

Lynn’s 2004 collaboration with Jack White, Van Leer Rose, received praise from a variety of critics, including our own Martin Cizmar who referred to the album in his review of Lynn’s performance at Celebrity in 2009 as “the record that resurrected her standing in the wider pop music conscious.”
Last year, Columbia released a tribute album to Lynn, Coal Miner’s Daughter, which featured Carrie Underwood, The White Stripes, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Paramore and others.
