When given the option of an exciting wildcat offense and a stud quarterback, or two middle-aged guys in the twilight of their careers, NBC is going with the latter.
NBC has decided to show the Arizona Cardinals a little love this season and has opted to move the Cards December 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings from a 2 p.m. local broadcast to its prime time, nationally aired, night-time spot.
The prime time spot was originally scheduled to feature Tom Brady and the New England Patriots against the Miami Dolphins and the team’s explosive wildcat offense. But the network announced today that it is airing the Cards game instead.
Why the change, you ask? Probably has something to do with the fact that each team’s quarterback was born during the Nixon administration.

The Vikings Brett Favre, who can’t seem to make up his mind about whether he wants to retire, is 40 Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner is 38.
More impressive than the fact that these guys are still in the league is that their teams are both Super Bowl contenders.
The Cards boast a 7-3 record, and the team is leading the NFC West. The Vikings got off to a 9-1 start and are on top in the NFC North.
This will be the fourth time the Cardinals have been broadcast nationally this season — the most in team history.
The live broadcast from Glendale is scheduled to start at 6:20 p.m. on NBC.
