With two Super Bowl rings already adorning the fingers of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger — and the chance for a third coming in Sunday’s Super Bowl — there’s already talk about whether he’s Hall of Fame material. Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner isn’t buyin’ into the hype.
Warner appeared on KTAR this week, where he made it clear he is not aboard the “Big Ben” Hall of Fame train.
“I’m just waiting to see Ben as the guy that carries his team at some point in time. The fortunate thing for him is he hasn’t had to do that. He carries them in the last two minutes. He makes some key plays. [He’s] phenomenal out of the pocket and ad-libbing. But for me, if you go to the Hall of Fame, you have to be a guy who can carry your team week in and week out as a quarterback. That’s my opinion.”

In case anyone forgot, Roethlisberger’s two-minute offense is what kept Kurt and Co. from bringing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the desert in Super Bowl XL.
Trailing 23-20 with 2:30 left on the clock, Roethlisberger marched the Steelers 88 yards in eight plays to score the game-winning touch down. Roethlisberger hooked up with Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes four times for 73 yards on the drive, including the six-yard TD pass to that put the Steelers ahead with 0:35 remaining.
Warner countered Roethlisberger’s impressive late-game drive by fumbling, giving the ball back to the Steelers, and losing the game.
But, according to Warner, Roethlisberger’s not Hall of Fame worthy — sounds like somebody’s a little bitter.
