Then they headed to the Sunshine State and its all falling apart. After losing to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night after blowing a 10-point lead, Phoenix got the smackdown from the Orlando Magic in a 103-93 defeat.
The Suns maintained a small lead against the Magic for the first eight minutes of the game before Orlando’s Ryan Anderson (who led the game in scoring with 29 points) and his team took over and never looked back.
Although Phoenix outscored their opponents with 48.1 percent shooting, O-Town was firmly in control of the contest. They contained Steve Nash and Grant Hill on scoring (resulting in only seven and nine points for each star, respectively), forced turnovers aplenty, and led the game in rebounds. Three-point shots also proved to be a major difference maker in the game, as Orlando went 11-23 from long range, including seven treys from the sniper-like Anderson.
Thankfully, the Suns will leave Florida behind and head for the Midwest for a game with the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. Phoenix is one win shy of a .500 record at 23-24, and will attempt to regroup before their battle with the 26-18 Pacers, who are currently the second-best team in the Central Division.
