According to a police probable-cause statement, Gaffin “later admitted to being a ‘kitten killer’ and attempted to justify her actions due to the fact that the kitten had urinated on the new carpet in her apartment.”

Gaffin was booked into jail on a felony animal-cruelty charge but was released without having to post bond. She is to be supervised during her release, according to a judge’s order.

Court documents indicate Gaffin has been involved in prior domestic-violence incidents.
